Giant Chewbacca on Funko Store building in Everett

I have been lazy with my updates. Forgive me! Essentially, all is well.

The only change is a temporary change in my vision, it’s a bit blurry close up now. The lightest readers, 1.25 lenses, fix it nicely. I’ll see an eye doctor at the end of June to make sure all is well.

Monday is the last of the first set of infusions. This past Monday the trend of increasing sleepiness from the Benadryl continued. I had a good nap in the infusion chair and again once I got home. That was it, the rest of this week my energy levels have been pretty good.

For some interest, I’ve added a photo that Matt took of Chewbacca. He, along with a whole cast of characters, sit along a ledge surrounding the Funko building in Everett. They design and create pop culture collectibles.

May the force be with you!

Love,
D’Arcy

  1. glad to hear that you are doing well considering all that you are going through. I have to have readers so I went to the dollar store and bought a pair for every room. After my cataract surgery the Dr. suggested that I do that than pay $$$ for prescription ones. You can get as many different frames as you want. Who knows what one will see me wearing LOL. Take care and thanks for the up date. Hugs

    • Hi Rose! I do love that readers are cheap and cheerful. So far I just have one pair. Plus our house is small, they can only hide from me for a small amount of time. There! I’ve tempted Murphy. 😉

  2. D’Arcy-
Touching in. Well done! You appear to be managing with great aplomb and grace, despite experiencing side effects and a gnarly reaction to one of your medications ( which in hindsight may yet be a sign of success – according to your oncologist no less). Sending you gentle energy to recover some of your typical jaunty demeanor. You have in fact run a grueling marathon and almost to the finish line. Wowie zowie, who knew what a champion can do… more kudos to you. Rest up as it sounds like you sill be running a few more sets of these marathons. The good news is you will be even more savvy on how to save your energy to get ‘er done. May blessings continue to rain down on you.

    • Carmen, I love it when you say “wowie zowie” 😁. It is smile-inducing. This is true about the marathons. Now that I’m almost done with the first, I’m a little curious as well as a little nervous about the next one. Thank you for your kindness, blessings, and gentle energy—may we all benefit.

  3. Gack, just read the tale of the swollen mouth and throat and allergic rxn. Glad cautious&commonsense-Matt was with you. I’ve been wearing readers for a few years now. Watch out, as the need for magnification grows, even a small house can hide many pairs. Once a pair is lost, you need a pair to find other pairs! I’m impressed with your continued fortitude in practice in Saturdays. 🙂

    • Hi Anne! Thank you. I keep thinking one of these days I’m just going to go from horse stance to a pile on the floor. 😂 You are probably right about the glasses but I will live in denial for as long as I unreasonably can.

I am always so glad to see you pop up on the screen for class. Big hugs to you my Kung Fu sister!
