The Eighth Treatment

April 14, 2023

It’s kind of funny that the word “treat” is part of treatment. It is a little bit of a treat because I mostly end up napping during them. Then I need to rouse myself when the nurse changes out the medication and has me confirm my name and date of birth.

My naps have increased a bit in duration and frequency this week. Luckily and gratefully, my colleagues have been kind and supportive. I was very droopy yesterday but had a pretty decent sleep last night and held up all day today at work.

The weather was lovely and just warm enough to step out to gather in and connect—to the trees, sun, fresh air, the robins gathering dry grass for their nests, 🪺 and other critters who see me from their lofty vantages. 🐿️🦝🐛 ??

Yes. They’re just as pictured, giant chipmunks and caterpillars and tiny raccoons. 😁

Much love and thanks for the spoken, written, and quite support 💕

  1. Dear D’arcy, It was good to hear the tumors are shrinking! You are handling all this much better than I would.

Take care and rest whenever you feel like it. Rest is as important as some of the medicines. We think of you often and

send good vibes your way. Love, Karen and Bill

    • Karen! Thank you and I’m thinking you are right about these naps. I just woke from one and now—it’s time to work on taxes. 😱 Let’s see how the brain handles that, probably another nap will be in order soon after. 😆 Thank you for the love and good vibes. Hugs and love back to you two.

  2. I lost count of your treatments. Just 4 to go and then of period of rest and recuperation .for your body I’m glad that you can sleep during the treatments. That’s a good way to deal with infusions. Think of you lots, with love. Mom 💓

    • Belated thank you, Mom. I’ve been neglecting my blog duties! Love, D’Arcy

I have been remiss in sending you mini love letters. However, I always have you in my heart. Wonderful news from you to hear the tumors are taking the hint and shrinking. Excellent sign your strategy to take on a team of eclectic healing modalities is working like magic. Always good to have magic in one’s life! Next thing you know, you’ll be completing treatments and marching on to wards more spaciousness in your life. Doing important things that strike your fancy. Perhaps the slowing down process is also the opportunity you afford yourself to do your healing at a pace your body needs. Tiredness and grogginess may be your allies in disguise. Ensuring your physical body can keep pace with your beautiful mind.
So many things to consider as you meet the seemingly mundane demands of everyday life.
You absolutely have your angels keeping a good eye on your forward movement. All is well.

Keep going. Deep bows to you.
May blessings continue to rain down on you and Matt.

    • Dear Carmen, “more spaciousness” sounds fantastic! Thank you for you mini love letters, they are a gift every time I read them. I deep bow to you in gratitude.
